Job Summary
Refroid Technologies is looking for a Lead / Manager – Mechanical Design to lead the mechanical design team and drive the design and development of advanced cooling and thermal management products. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in SolidWorks, Creo, GD&T, tolerance stack-up and mechanical product development, along with proven experience in leading design engineers.
The candidate will be responsible for taking products from concept development through detailed design, prototyping, validation and production, while ensuring design quality, manufacturability and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of Mechanical Design Engineers and manage day-to-day design activities.
Drive mechanical design and development of cooling systems, thermal management products, CDU systems, heat exchangers, enclosures, sheet-metal and fabricated components.
Develop and review 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, assemblies and BOMs using SolidWorks and Creo.
Establish and review GD&T, dimensional tolerances, fits, clearances and tolerance stack-up analysis.
Perform design reviews and ensure designs meet functional, manufacturing and assembly requirements.
Work closely with Thermal, Electrical, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and Project teams.
Ensure DFM/DFA, manufacturability and cost optimization are incorporated into designs.
Lead prototype development, testing, design verification and engineering changes.
Resolve design and manufacturing issues through root-cause analysis and engineering problem solving.
Review and approve engineering drawings, design specifications and technical documentation.
Develop standard design practices, drawing standards, design guidelines and engineering documentation.
Coordinate with vendors for fabrication, machining, sheet-metal, welding and other manufacturing processes.
Manage engineering deliverables and timelines for multiple projects.
Identify opportunities for design standardization, modularization and product cost reduction.
Ensure compliance with applicable engineering, safety and quality standards.

Qualifications
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
A M.Tech/MS in Mechanical Design, Thermal Engineering or related discipline is an advantage.
8-12 years of overall mechanical design experience
Minimum 2–3 years of experience leading a design engineering team
Strong hands-on experience with SolidWorks and/or Creo
Proven experience in GD&T, tolerance analysis and detailed engineering drawings
Experience in taking products from concept → design → prototype → validation → production
